2015 Bank of America Chicago Marathon
On October 11, 2015, over 45,000 runners will take over the streets of Chicago at the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. Of those runners, about 170 will be wearing the Team One Step jersey, and will embark on their 26.2 miles knowing that they have made a difference in the life of a child with cancer.
Whether you are a first-time runner or a seasoned athlete, the challenge of the marathon can be a scary thought. Team One Step aims to ease this fear by giving you the support you need every step of the way. You will receive a personalized training plan catered to your current fitness level, bi-weekly workouts designed for you to get the most out of your marathon experience, and bi-weekly emails from our expert coaches on topics ranging from injury prevention to race day strategy. You will also become part of the Team One Step community, and gain access to running workshops, social events, and an online runner forum.
Beyond the training element, we also aim to ease the fears that you may have about fundraising. When you register with Team One Step for the Chicago Marathon, you are also agreeing to raise $1,000 for One Step Programs, which is the cost of sending a child to camp for one week. In return, we will provide you with a personalized fundraising page, as well as tips and strategies to meet (and surpass) your fundraising goal. As a member of our team, we will also cover the $185 Chicago Marathon registration fee, and provide you with a Team One Step racing top and other team swag.
Registration for Team One Step's Chicago Marathon team will be available in January 2015.
